INTRODUCTION

This custom thermoforming mold is designed for mass production of disposable fruit and vegetable packaging trays, widely used in supermarkets, fresh produce markets, cold chain distribution and food retail packaging. The mold supports multi-cavity production of plastic trays for fruits, vegetables, berries, mushrooms, salads and other fresh food items, helping customers achieve stable output and consistent tray quality.

Fruit and vegetable packaging trays require good structural strength, shallow cavity depth, uniform material distribution and stackable dimensions. They must be able to hold fresh products without excessive deformation during display, transportation and cold storage. If the mold cavity is not well optimized, problems such as uneven wall thickness, tray warping, weak bottom support and edge curling may occur during continuous production. This mold addresses these issues through targeted cavity design and rib structure optimization.

The forming cavity is made of high-quality CNC-machined aluminum alloy. Each cavity is precisely processed to ensure consistent tray depth, flat bottom and clean flange dimension. Internal reinforcement ribs are designed to improve tray stiffness and reduce flexible deformation when carrying fresh produce. This is especially important for vegetable and fruit trays, because products such as apples, potatoes, carrots and leafy greens require different load-bearing performance from the packaging tray.

The mold adopts reasonably arranged vacuum holes to improve uniform suction during forming. This helps reduce material stretching marks, local thinning and uneven corners. For shallow packaging trays, balanced vacuum distribution is essential to keep the bottom flat and the flange consistent, which directly affects subsequent lidding, sealing and automated packaging efficiency.

Built-in circulating water cooling channels help quickly and evenly cool the sheet after forming. This design can shorten cycle time, improve production efficiency and reduce demolding deformation. In high-volume fresh packaging production, stable cooling performance helps maintain consistent tray dimensions and reduces the risk of stacking and packaging failures.

The trimming unit uses high-strength alloy steel cutting blades. The cutting clearance is optimized according to different sheet materials and tray thickness, so that finished trays can obtain smooth edges without obvious burrs. Clean edges are important for food-grade packaging, as they improve safety, operator experience and final product appearance.

This mold is compatible with food-grade PP, PET and PS sheets. Finished trays are suitable for supermarkets, fresh produce stores, cold chain logistics, vegetable processing plants and fruit packaging lines. When used together with multi-station thermoforming machines, the mold can complete forming, punching and stacking in one continuous workflow, making it suitable for large-scale fresh food packaging production.
