Official Statement & Rectification Notice on Supplier Mold Quality Issues
Issued by: Wenzhou Rayshape Machinery Co.,Ltd. (AIRAYS)
Date: April 17, 2026
Recently, during the installation and commissioning of multi-station thermoforming machines, AIRAYS identified severe quality defects in molds provided by a cooperative supplier. These defects directly caused damage to AIRAYS vacuum pumps and disrupted normal production schedules. To safeguard product quality, maintain production order, clarify liability, and strengthen supply chain quality management, AIRAYS hereby issues this official notice to inform all partners, customers, and the public of the incident.
As a professional enterprise dedicated to the R&D, manufacturing, sales, and service of plastic thermoforming equipment, AIRAYS adheres to the core philosophy of “Quality First, Integrity Management” backed by profound technical expertise and a strict quality control system. We are committed to providing customers with reliable and efficient automatic thermoforming equipment.
The problematic molds are supporting parts for multi-station thermoforming machines supplied by a mold manufacturer. During installation and trial operation, the molds exhibited critical failures, including poor sealing of internal water channels, water leakage, and air leakage. As a result, a large volume of cooling water was drawn into the vacuum pumps through the vacuum system, causing water damage and functional failure of the pumps. This incident resulted in direct costs for equipment repair and replacement, as well as negative impacts on AIRAYS production progress.
A thorough investigation by the AIRAYS technical team confirmed the clear root cause and full liability:
The mold manufacturer failed to conduct mandatory factory hydrostatic sealing tests on mold water channels and air‑tightness tests on vacuum chambers as required by basic industry standards. It delivered defective molds with incomplete water channel sealing and inadequate insert sealing to AIRAYS. This act constitutes a serious breach of quality requirements. All damage to vacuum pumps and related economic losses are solely attributable to the substandard quality of the supplier’s molds and are unrelated to AIRAYS installation, operation, or usage.
Product quality is the lifeblood of an enterprise and the cornerstone of supply chain cooperation. This incident exposes inadequate quality control by certain suppliers and serves as a serious warning for AIRAYS supply chain management.
Immediately after the incident, AIRAYS activated an emergency response mechanism:
1. Arranged professional technicians to repair and replace the damaged vacuum pumps without delay.
2. Issued an official claim and rectification notice to the mold manufacturer with three binding requirements:
○ Dispatch professional personnel on-site within the deadline to fully repair and rectify the leaking molds, ensuring water channel pressure resistance and vacuum sealing meet industry standards and AIRAYS production specifications.
○ Fully bear all costs including vacuum pump parts, repair, labor, and all related economic losses.
○ For all subsequent mold deliveries, strictly perform water channel pressure testing (0.6–0.8MPa, pressure‑holding for 30 minutes without leakage) and vacuum chamber air‑tightness testing, with complete test records provided. Failure to comply will result in direct rejection of goods and claims for production delay losses.
There are no shortcuts to quality control. Every component and every production process directly affects equipment stability and customers’ core interests.
Following this incident, AIRAYS will further strengthen supply chain quality management:
• Conduct a full review of qualifications and performance assessments for all cooperative suppliers.
• Establish a strict supplier access and elimination mechanism.
• Resolutely terminate cooperation with suppliers failing to meet quality standards to prevent substandard products from entering production.
• Continuously optimize the internal quality control system and integrate quality awareness into procurement, inspection, production, and delivery.
• Ensure every piece of equipment delivered to customers withstands market and user inspection.
AIRAYS always places quality and integrity at the forefront. Although this mold quality incident is the responsibility of the supplier, it has deeply emphasized the importance of full‑process supply chain quality control.
AIRAYS will take this incident as a critical opportunity to strengthen management, learn lessons, and continuously improve product quality and service levels. We will uphold the bottom line of quality and honor the trust of our partners and customers.
Meanwhile, AIRAYS calls on all cooperative suppliers to uphold quality commitments, strictly fulfill quality responsibilities, jointly build a high‑quality and sustainable supply chain ecosystem, and promote the healthy and orderly development of the global plastic thermoforming equipment industry.
