AIRAYS RSC‑800‑500|How to Secure Upper Mold

This technical operation video explains the full procedure on how to securely lock and fasten the upper mold for AIRAYS RSC‑800‑500 all‑servo cup‑making thermoforming machine. This positive‑pressure forming equipment manufactures disposable beverage cups, coffee cups, milk cups, food bowls and diverse plastic food containers. It supports multiple sheet materials including A‑PET, R‑PET, C‑PET, BOPS, HIPS, PP, PLA, PVC and barrier materials to satisfy various food‑packaging manufacturing demands.

Secure upper‑mold fastening is critical for high‑speed thermoforming production. Improper bolt tightening or uneven locking will trigger mold offset, inconsistent wall‑thickness of finished goods, abnormal mechanical noise, vibration, collision risk between upper and lower mold, or unexpected emergency stop. All fastening steps shall be performed by well‑trained operators or service technicians. Do not fully lock mounting bolts immediately after hoisting the upper mold onto the mold platen. Keep bolts slightly loose to allow fine‑tuning for horizontal and vertical alignment.

After coarse positioning and fine alignment adjustment, implement cross‑diagonal bolt‑tightening sequence. Tighten mounting bolts step‑by‑step in cross‑diagonal order instead of locking one single bolt completely at one time. This method distributes clamping force evenly across the whole upper‑mold base, preventing distortion or tilting of mold plate. Torque wrench is recommended to reach specified torque value according to operation manual.

Once all mounting bolts are secured, run low‑speed no‑load stroke cycles to check mechanical interference. Then carry out sheet feeding trial run, inspect mold clearance, closing status and sample forming quality. If offset, gap deviation or product defect occurs, release bolts, re‑align and repeat the full securing workflow.

This machine adopts four‑column plus five‑point structural connecting‑rod design together with quick‑change mold system. Correct upper‑mold securing maximizes mechanical stability during long‑time continuous production and extends service life of both mold and machine components.
